Description: Dr. Tarafder’s talk explores how multilingualism and intermediality shape Indian theatre. Drawing on examples from diverse regions and languages, it highlights how contemporary practitioners blend languages, media, and sensory modes—combining theatre with film, technology, and other disciplines—to create dynamic, collaborative, and transmedial forms of performance rooted in exchange and transformation.

Speaker Bio: Rini Tarafder is the 2024-2025 Visiting Teaching Assistant Professor of Theatre at the University of Denver. She completed her PhD in Interdisciplinary Theatre Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in August 2024.
