Matthew Geisler, Associate Director for New Programs and Enrollment, International Academic Programs, UW-Madison International Division

Matthew Geisler is Associate Director for New Programs and Enrollment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, International Academic Programs. He has also worked in education abroad at Northern Arizona University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal supporting local community forestry efforts. He holds a BS in Resource Development and Environmental Policy and MS in Extension Education from Michigan State University.

Parwat Regmi, Interpreter/Translator/Trainer, Cultural & Linguistic Services, UW-Madison

Parwat Regmi (pronouns: he/him/his) is a Nepali<>English Interpreter and Translator/Workplace Computer Trainer, a dual position role, at Cultural Linguistic Services (CLS) within the Office of Human Resources. Parwat started in this position in January 2020 and works with divisions across campus to provide language interpretation, translation, and facilitation services for Nepali-speaking employees, along with their supervisors and associated divisional staff. Beyond campus, Parwat is also an active community member of Nepali American Friendship Association (NAFA), a local community organization in Madison, which serves the Nepali-speaking residents of Madison metro area.

Madeline Ruid, Research Analyst, Global X ETFs

Madeline is a Research Analyst with Global X ETFs, where she focuses on infrastructure and the environment. She previously held research roles across a range of climate change and renewable energy-related topics, including with Fitch Solutions, BloombergNEF, NASA DEVELOP, and the International Food Policy Research Institute. Madeline earned her MA in Climate and Society from Columbia University in 2018 and a BS in Physical Geography, Cartography and Geographic Information Systems, and Languages and Cultures of Asia (Turkish) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015.

Brenda Yang, Assistant Director of Career Communities & Career & Intern Specialist for Environment, Sustainability, and Conservation, UW-Madison, SuccessWorks at the College of Letters & Science; Dane County Board Supervisor-District 19; City of Madison’s Language Access Consultant

Brenda supports L&S Students in helping them transition from majors to jobs/careers/professional work. In addition to this she provides support for: resume writing/building, cover letter writing, mock interview practice, elevator pitches, job search, employment trends in majors, support in helping students understand hiring trends, and supervision of professional staff. The Dane County Board of Supervisors is the legislative and policy-making body of Dane County government, representing the needs of the county’s 37 districts. The board’s mission is to promote the general welfare, ensure domestic tranquility, and secure freedom for the people of Dane County. The board sets policy for county operations in areas such as human needs, infrastructure, criminal justice, the environment, and finance. Supervisors may also serve on committees, such as the Extension Committee, Land Conservation Committee, or standing committee chairs.  She works with the City of Madison’s Dept. of Civil Rights as a consultant in language access and cultural competency of the Hmong language. She provides language access services to the Hmong Community through translation, video services, and other community driven initiatives.
