Are you participating in a WISLI language course online this summer? We want to see your experience—your study setup, creative learning spaces, cultural engagement, and more! This can let future students see what the WISLI experience is like. Submit your best photos to the 2026 WISLI Photo Contest for a chance to win a WISLI t-shirt and be featured in our promotional materials. Please include a photo title and a description or social media caption with your submission.
Submission Deadline: Photo submissions will be reviewed weekly on Fridays throughout the summer.
Photo Categories: You may submit up to five (5) photos in each of the following categories:
- Study Space Vibes – Show us your study setup when you’re reviewing material outside of class! Whether it’s a cozy desk at home, a scenic outdoor spot, or your favorite local café—let us see where your language learning happens.
- Connecting Across Cultures – How are you engaging with the language and culture you’re studying outside the virtual classroom? Share moments with conversation partners, cultural meals, creative projects, or other activities.
- The Virtual Classroom Experience – Ask a friend, family member, or roommate to snap a candid of you presenting, collaborating, or diving into a class activity.
- Pets of WISLI – Have a pet keeping you company while you learn? Show them off and let us see our furry classmates!
- Other Perspectives – Have a powerful photo from your WISLI experience that doesn’t fit the categories above? Submit it here and share why it’s meaningful to you.
How to Submit: Email your photos to wisli@lpo.wisc.edu. Multiple photos can be included in a single email. Each submission must include:
- Your name
- Your WISLI language course
- Photo title and/or caption
- Location where the photo was taken
File naming format: Language_FirstNameLastName.jpg (Avoid special characters)
Accepted file types: .JPEG, .PNG, or .HEIC
Minimum file size: 1 MB, 300 dpi
Please avoid heavy filters—basic color correction is fine.
Eligibility: Open to all students currently enrolled in WISLI 2026 language programs.
Permission & Promotion: By submitting your photo(s), you grant WISLI permission to use your image(s), first name and last initial, and caption(s) for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, posters, flyers, and brochures.
