Now entering its 25th year, the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center’s (LACC) Haitian Summer Institute (HSI) is a six-week program designed for anyone interested in acquiring basic conversational proficiency in Haitian Creole and for those students who wish to continue their Haitian Creole Language training at the intermediate and advanced levels. This year, the HSI will be conducted online. For more information on the HSI and the program application (Due May 1, 2022), please visit our HSI website.

Funding options are available for K-14 educators and Community College Faculty. The LACC Haitian Summer Institute K-14 Educator Grant is a scholarship for educators enrolling in the Haitian Summer Institute who demonstrate a need to gain enhanced exposure to and understanding of Haiti and Haitian Creole. Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $200-$2,500 and can cover the full cost of tuition, program fees and books for the 6-week program.
