Meet APTLI Instructor Dr. Fatemeh Mirsharifi
Dr. Mirsharifi received her PhD in Second Language Acquisition with an emphasis on Less Commonly Taught Languages from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Before returning to UW-Madison to work as a professor, she taught Persian at the University of California-Berkeley. She has been involved with APTLI since 2007.
Dr. Mirsharifi is an experienced online language instructor, having taught Persian virtually during APTLI 2020. Despite never meeting in person, her summer 2020 class quickly formed a strong bond. She found her students’ willingness to support each other, in and outside of class, heartwarming. Students from all over the globe will be able to participate in APTLI 2021, bringing diverse perspectives and experiences to each cohort. Dr. Mirsharifi is excited to meet everyone and learn more about their goals and motivations for APTLI 2021.
