English for Heritage Language Speakers Scholarships

English for Heritage Language Speakers (EHLS) is an intensive advanced English and professional skills program at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. that prepares non-native English speakers for a variety of careers within the U.S government.

The program offers full scholarships for U.S. citizens who have a college degree and are native speakers of Arabic, Azerbaijani, Balochi, Bambara, Dari, Hausa, Hindi, Kazakh, Korean, Kurdish, Kyrgyz, Mandarin Chinese, Pashto, Persian Farsi, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Tajik, Tamashek, Thai, Turkish, Urdu, Uzbek, or Vietnamese.

EHLS is suspending in-person EHLS recruitment events from now until the end of June. They will continually be reevaluating the situation around the coronavirus (COVID-19) and will update you in a timely fashion. Their priority is the health of the public, our staff, and our potential applicants, so in lieu of in-person events, they will be offering weekly live webinars with EHLS staff for folks to learn more about the program and ask questions. They are still available via phone (202-687-4455) and email (info@ehlsprogram.org) to answer any questions and to assist while you complete your EHLS 2021 application.
